Take Time and Pause...

During our Prayer Meeting we learned that praying is not meant only for asking and giving thanks. But it's also to obtain a relationship with God. Creating a better relationship with God means having better relationships with our neighbours (naasten). And who makes a better candidate than our own families? It is so easy to apply the words given in Matthew "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use and persecute you" to everyone except to our own spouse. Jesus commanded us to forgive not 7 times, but 70 times 7. We seem to have no problem with this as long as it does not refer to our attitude toward our parents or our inlaws. It's easy to say I'm sorry to a stranger than to speak kind words to our own children.
It's so easy but also so wrong!!
We made the first step by starting to develope a better relationship with God. Let's impliment this relationship by loving our neighbours in our own homes. We are well aware that the Gospel of Jesus Christ changes life, so why not preaching it in our own homes..... After all christianity starts at home.

An encourangement for you to take time, pause and pray for a better relationship with God and also to attend at our prayer evenings.
